Uber\u00a0is hiring even as artificial intelligence and work visa restrictions reshape the US tech workforce.<\/p>\n

The ride-hailing giant has several hundred open roles around the world listed on its jobs pages, including a few hundred in the US.<\/p>\n

Tech companies are taking a more cautious approach to hiring as they invest more in AI. Uber has slowed hiring in some areas due to AI, CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said earlier this year, and employees are generally expected to be more productive.<\/p>\n

Many Big Tech companies have also pulled back on foreign workers in the wake of big changes to the H-1B visa program, including a hefty fee, initiated by the Trump Administration last year. The program allows companies to temporarily employ foreign workers for specialtyjobs in the US.<\/p>\n

Uber’s latest visa filings in 2026 offer insight into how the company is approaching hiring foreign workers and how much it pays new employees. <\/p>\n

Uber filed applications to hire 364 workers through the H-1B visa program during the first half of the 2026 federal fiscalyear, according to filings with the US Department of Labor. That’s down from 497 filings submitted in the same period last year.<\/p>\n

Manyof those applications are for software engineers and other roles affected by AI.<\/p>\n

The highest-paid job in the dataset had a salary of $410,000. The lowest-paying role, meanwhile, had a base pay of $94,331. <\/p>\n

Uber did not respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n

The company ended 2025 with about 34,000 employees globally, according to its annual report.<\/p>\n

Here’s a look at the key jobs for which Uber disclosed salaries during the six-month period through March 31:<\/p>\n

Manager, Engineering: $238,800 to $267,400<\/p>\n

Senior Manager, Engineering: $288,400 to $292,500<\/p>\n

Senior Director, Engineering: $410,000<\/p>\n

Data scientists can make up to $193,700<\/h2>\n

Scientist II, Tech: $160,100 to $165,400<\/p>\n

Scientist, Tech: $174,900 to $178,000<\/p>\n

Senior Data Analyst, Tech: $180,000 to $180,900<\/p>\n

Senior Data Scientist, Tech: $175,600 to $193,700<\/p>\n

Product managers can make up to $260,000<\/h2>\n

Product Manager: $166,400 to $184,900<\/p>\n

Senior Product Manager: $196,300 to $225,700<\/p>\n

Machine Learning Engineer: $183,500 to $198,500<\/p>\n

Senior Applications Developer: $194,900 to $204,700<\/p>\n

Senior Machine Learning Engineer: $211,100 to $221,700<\/p>\n

Senior Software Engineer: $190,700 to $242,000<\/p>\n

Senior Staff Engineer: $275,800 to $297,000<\/p>\n

Senior Machine Learning Engineer: $235,300 to $262,000<\/p>\n
