Because of that, getting an Amazon Gift Card is basically free money \u2014 there are very few product limitations. Especially with Amazon Prime Day over the horizon, buying from the retailer can actually help you save big on products you’d otherwise pay full price for.<\/p>\n

How to add an Amazon gift card to your account<\/h2>\n

If you receive an Amazon gift card, the easiest way to redeem it is to use the designated link. Log in to your account, enter your claim code, and click the Apply to your balance<\/strong> button. You can use other avenues as well, such as the Amazon app or the gift card section of Amazon’s site.<\/p>\n

How to redeem an Amazon gift card via the app<\/h2>\n

These steps work for both the iPhone and Android apps.<\/p>\n

1. <\/strong>Open the Amazon shopping app, and tap the person icon on the bottom toolbar to access your account information.<\/p>\n

2. <\/strong>On this page, scroll down to where it says Gift Card Balance<\/strong>, and tap the arrow next to it.<\/p>\n

3. <\/strong>You’ll be brought to a new page where you can redeem a gift card or add a balance to an existing one using your credit or debit card. Tap Redeem another gift card<\/strong> to activate your gift card by entering its code or scanning it.<\/p>\n

Alternatively, you can redeem a new gift card straight from the checkout page. In the Payment information<\/strong> section, type or scan your gift card number.<\/p>\n

How to redeem an Amazon gift card via the website<\/h2>\n

The process is pretty similar if you go through Amazon’s website.<\/p>\n

1. <\/strong>Head to Amazon, and hover your mouse over the Account & Lists<\/strong> option in the top-right. Click Account<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

2. <\/strong>Choose Gift Cards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

3. <\/strong>You’ll see your current gift card balance and transaction history. To redeem a new gift card, click Redeem a Gift Card<\/strong> and enter its code.<\/p>\n

You can also redeem an Amazon gift card right from the checkout page. Under “Add a gift card or promotion code or voucher<\/strong>,” enter your gift card number, then click Apply<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

How to acquire an Amazon gift card<\/h2>\n

If you want to get an Amazon gift card for yourself or someone else, here’s what you’ll need to do:<\/p>\n

1. <\/strong>Go to the Amazon gift cards page, and make sure you’re logged in to your account.<\/p>\n

2. <\/strong>Click on the Amazon Gift Cards<\/strong> section. You can choose between eGift cards, physical gift cards, and printing a gift card at home. You can also browse by occasion.<\/p>\n

3. <\/strong>Alternatively, you can choose Reload your balance<\/strong>, located toward the top of the page. From there, you can directly add funds to an existing Amazon gift card.<\/p>\n

How to find your Amazon gift card balance<\/h2>\n

Knowing your gift card balance is important if you plan on using it to cover certain expenses. You can check your Amazon gift card balance using either the desktop or mobile version of Amazon. In either case, you’ll have to navigate to your account information and then head to the gift card section.<\/p>\n

Do I need to have an Amazon account to redeem a gift card?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Yes, you’ll need an Amazon account to make any purchase on Amazon, whether you’re using a gift card or not.<\/p>\n

I can’t see the entire code on the gift card \u2014 what do I do?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In that case, you’d have to contact Amazon for help. You’ll need to provide the 16- or 30-digit card serial number, your order number (if you know it), the purchaser’s name, the recipient’s name, and the email address or physical address where the gift card was sent.<\/p>\n
